Rid Your House Of Impurities By Cleaning Your Air Ducts

Proper and regular Louisville duct cleaning and maintenance can improve the overall performance and energy efficiency of your Louisville HVAC system. In systems like this, the house is cooled by a system of air circulation. Dust and other debris tend to accumulate over time and can impede in the overall efficiency and performance of air conditioning system. This is mainly due to clogged ductwork systems affecting the free flow of air throughout your home. This translates to compromised circulation of warm air during winter and cool air when you badly need it during summer.

Cleaning the ductwork ensures that all these materials are removed from you air conditioning system and it can generate significant savings as your unit will not perform as much in order to attain the level of performance that you require. Failure to maintain and clean the ductwork may even lead to more serious problems including damage to the whole system. You will have to spend extram money to get it fixed, and be without it. Your family will suffer from discomfort and you will suffer from the pain of wasting money.

In addition, you need to clean your duct work regularly to protect your family from allergens and pollen. If you or another member or your household is sensitive to these allergens, particularly dander and dusts, then you will be prone and exposed to higher amount of allergens inside your home if you fail to regularly clean and maintain the ductwork system. If you are a home with children or senior citizens you should take car to clean your ducts.

Further, if you are residing in a place where the climate is characterized by high moisture content and humidity, then mold can proliferate in the ductwork due to accumulation of moisture. Having mold spewing out in their air in you ducts poses serious health hazards to you and your family. Having mold in your home can cause major illnesses, so it should be on your top priority to keep it from invading your ducts. Living in a mold infested house can cause respiratory issues or other sickness.

A vacuum can be a great tool do to the occasional cleaning on your own. This leads to lesser volume of dander and dust that can accumulate within the ductwork. Doing this will keep you from having to service your system frequently.
Another way to help keep your system in good shape is to use good quality filters. These filters too have to be inspected regularly. As a general rule, the ductwork must be cleaned and maintained every two years. If you or other members of your family are sensitive to allergens, then it is essential that the cleaning be done yearly. Also remember to do the same thing with mold if you live in a warm, humid area.

Wireless Hidden Cameras Are All Around You

Did you know that wireless hidden cameras are possibly all around you? That’s right.

There are people using them in the park, in college classes, in malls, department stores, in meetings, and in many other places that you frequent. Individuals have their personal reasons as to why they use these hidden cameras in public places. You may even encounter these cameras when you walk into your neighbor’s home or the home of one of your family members. They are virtually everywhere.

Even businesses are in on using wireless hidden cameras to catch thieves. What may look like a pen in the shirt pocket of the clerk may not be a regular ink pen. Then again, the tie that the manager is wearing may not be your usual tie.

There are many faces to these cameras and that’s because the idea behind them is for them not to be seen. It is important in certain environments to make sure individuals are acting the way they need to. In other words, they have to be fair and moral. Anyone who can’t be that way when they think they are by themselves has the potential to turn in a heartbeat in other situations.

However, these cameras are not just found in businesses and homes. They are found virtually anywhere and everywhere. You never know when the book that someone is reading in the park may actually have a hidden camera inside of it. That is how well disguised these cameras are.

So if you find yourself in a situation in which wireless hidden cameras could come in handy, go ahead and give it a try. You can start out with one or go ahead and go with many. There are so many different scenarios in which these cameras are needed that it would be almost impossible to go down the entire list. Just keep in mind that they are all around, so be sure to be on your best behavior.

Recycling Your Used Sacks And Carry-out Containers Is Important

If thinking about how you are planning on carrying your most recent purchase home, please take the time to think whether your plastic or Paper Bags or will end up in a landfill. Once at that landfill, will the plastic and Paper Sacks be there for a small or large amount of time? Perhaps they will be there forever. It would be wonderful if these things were taken into account before you answer that all important question, “paper or plastic?”

In today’s world we need to be cognizant that every action we take can (and often does) have a tremendous impact on the earth. When we run out to a restaurant for Carryout food, the amount of trash left behind is enormous. Think about the Styrofoam container the food comes in as well as the plastic silverware paper napkins, cups, straws and bag. All of these items must go somewhere and often it is into the trash, on its way to a landfill far from your home. After that we rarely ponder its effect.

The bags, sacks and containers have a lasting consequence on the earth. Well over a billion single-use plastic bags are given out each day. There are consequences for the short-lived handiness of unlimited, free, single-use plastic bags. To observe the real costs, we must look at the multiple impacts of a bag’s life. In a landfill, plastic bags take up to 1,000 years to degrade. As litter on our roads they breakdown into tiny bits, contaminating our soil and water. When plastic bags breakdown, small plastic particles can create threats to sea life and contaminate the food supply for all mammals. Collection, hauling and disposal of plastic bag waste create another environmental issue. Almost 8 billion pounds of plastic bags, wraps and sacks enter the waste stream every year in the United States alone, placing an unwanted burden on our diminishing landfill room. It has been noted that when incinerated, plastic bags cause air pollution.

Paper bags are now thought to be a better choice. Their negative consequence on our globe is far less. It takes almost 85%less energy to recycle a pound of plastic than it takes to recycle a pound of paper, the public recycles fare more than that of plastic bags. Often the paper bags were made of recycled paper to spin]begin|start[/spin] with. Paper sacks in the landfills of today do not break down at a substantially faster rate than plastic does. In fact, nothing totally degrades in modern landfills because of the lack of water, light, and oxygen. A paper sack consumes more space than a conventional plastic bag, but since paper is recycled at an elevated rate, saving space in landfills is not much of a concern.

What should we do then when taking our shopping home? First, try to choose paper over plastic if possible. Perhaps you could use and reuse both your paper and plastic bags many, many times. Several stores will give you a slight discount for doing so. You also are saving the store money to. Most significantly however you should carry a cloth bag with you everywhere. This way you will be ready when asked “paper or plastic?” Your answer will be “neither, I brought my own bag, thank you.” And the world will thank you in return.

Dryer Vent Cleaning By Fort Mcmurray Duct Cleaning Company

Keeping a dryer vent cleaning is an idea that not only can save us money on gas and electric bills, but in addition to this, we also are helping to prevent fire in our homes. If your clothes seem to be taking longer to dry, with more cycles required, perhaps the problem is dirt and lint inside the dryer’s venting pipe.

It is all too easy to assume that the dryer itself is at fault – after all, if the clothes are not drying properly, the obvious thing to do is to question the working mechanics of the dryer. However, this could prove to be a very expensive mistake if you, as a result of this idea, decide to call a professional in to fix the dryer, or even replace it. The problem actually is often a lot simpler, and often several times cheaper to fix.

If the dryer vent is being obstructed by a build-up of filth, then the washing will not dry efficiently, since the dryer cannot properly release the moisture in the clothes, and as a result, the washing will take a lot longer to dry. This can lead to clothes smelling generally unpleasant even after they have been in the dryer. If the dryer is run in this way continuously, you will find that damage is done to the dryer itself, resulting in you having to incur the cost of expensive repairs to the machinery.

Perhaps the most worrying feature of having an unclean dryer vent is the possibility that fire could arise. A lot of new dryers have a feature whereby the dryer will automatically turn its heat off if an obstruction is present to prevent the hazard of fire. The problem with this is that your clothes will unfortunately not end up being dried. However, dangerously, the older dryers do not have such a feature, and as a result are a real fire hazard. Due to more heat being pumped out and the heat being released inefficiently, the dryer will continue to heat up. This is a very serious fire safety issue, and if you feel something like dirt is a problem in your dryer, you should get it checked out at the earliest opportunity, without further delay.

Obviously in a lot of cases it is impractical to try to clean the dryer vent properly yourself, so you will want to call in a trained professional. However, you will find that most specialists will not be willing to sort the ventilation system for you. You should instead contact a chimney sweeping service or a duct cleaning company.

One way of helping your dryer out is simply to stop the build-up of unwanted things in the ventilation system before it occurs. This can be done by making sure all pieces of paper, handkerchiefs and so on are removed from clothing before they are placed into the dryer. Another hazard is losing money or jewelry in this way – an expensive mistake to make.

In 1998, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission gave an estimated figure of 15,600 fires caused by dryers, resulting in 20 deaths and 370 injuries. The build-up of dirt and paper is one of the main causes of these fires, and it is completely unnecessary to take this risk. A fire can cause thousands of pounds worth of damage to your home, or even worse, damage to yourself, so it is well worth investing in having a qualified professional come around to clean the dryer properly. Keep an eye on how the professional does the cleaning; it might be the case that your dryer is a type that you can clean yourself, resulting in even more money being saved. For obvious reasons you will want to keep anything flammable well away from the dryer.

It is good practice to clean the lint screen before you dry each load of laundry. Bear in mind that while you might want to use a fabric softener, these can result in a chemical film being left on the lint screen that can increase overheating in the dryer. Periodically take the lint screen out and wash it thoroughly with hot water, dishwashing soap, and a toothbrush.

Your dryer will have a flexible connector hose from the wall, and if this is not treated properly, the heat exhaustion can be even more inefficient. You do not want the connector hose to be plastic since a lot of plastics are flammable or do not resist heat well. An aluminum connector hose is good, but there should be no kinks in it, due to further inefficiencies. The connector hose should be short enough so that it only just stretches between the dryer and wall, with a little slack in case the dryer is pulled.

You should leave the door open when your dryer is on, as this will improve circulation and provide new, fresh, cool air for the dryer to use in exchange for its hot air, helping to prevent overheating. A dryer needs at least 100 square inches of oxygen, that’s 10” by 10”. Any exhaust fans in the room should be off whilst the dryer is running to prevent more heat being released.

Due to the high incidence of dryer fires, we need to be very careful about what we do whilst the dryer is running; it is not wise to leave the house, and it is certainly not wise to leave the dryer running at night when you are in bed. It may save a little time in your day, but the consequences could be disastrous.

Make sure that the person you are going to hire to clean out your dryer vent is going to use a viper high pressure air technique; a simple vacuuming or will not properly remove the lint from the venting system. This is even more the case if the build-up is moist since it will stick to the inside of the pipe even more firmly if this technique is used.

Next time you use your dryer, consider what you have read and think how much money you could be saving in energy bills and dryer replacements if you simply take the time to get the ventilation cleaned. Safer and cheaper – you are winning both ways.

Installer Climatiseur Split - Air Conditioning Tips & Tricks - Tips For Having an Air Conditioning System
By Ruduck Murray

In this page we will give everyone a few simple tips and steps that can end up saving you a lot of money when it comes to running your air conditioner. A little planning before installing your air conditioner will save you energy and money.

Try setting your thermostat between 72°F and 78°F. Each degree setting below 78°F will increase your energy consumption by approximately 8%. As you can see, that can add up to a lot of money over a year. Inspect and clean both the indoor and outdoor AC/Heating coils. The indoor coil in your air conditioner acts as a magnet for dust because it is constantly wetted during the cooling season. Dirt build-up on the indoor coil is the single most common cause of poor efficiency. The outdoor coil must also be checked periodically for dirt build-up and cleaned if necessary.

Check the refrigerant charge. The circulating fluid in your air conditioner is a special refrigerant gas that is put in when the system is installed. If the system is overcharged or undercharged with refrigerant, it will not work properly. You may need a service contractor to check the fluid and adjust it appropriately.

Use bath and kitchen fans sparsely when you are running the air conditioning system.

Reduce the cooling load by using cost-effective conservation measures. For example, effectively shade east and west windows. When possible, delay heat-generating activities, such as dishwashing or baking, until the evening on hot days.

Try to not use a dehumidifier at the same time your air conditioner is operating. The dehumidifier will increase the cooling load and force the air conditioner to work harder, which in turn increases your utility bill.

Over most of the cooling season, keep the house closed tight during the day. Don’t let in unwanted heat and humidity. If practical, ventilate at night either naturally or with fans.

Room Air Conditioning Units

The unit should be level when installed, so that the inside drainage system and other mechanisms operate efficiently. If possible, install the unit in a shaded spot on your home’s north or east side. Direct sunshine on the unit’s outdoor heat exchanger decreases efficiency by as much as 10%. You can plant trees and shrubs to shade the air conditioner, but do not block the airflow.

Set the fan speed on high, except on very humid days. When humidity is high, set the fan speed on low for more comfort. The low speed on humid days will cool your home better and will remove more moisture from the air because of slower air movement through the cooling equipment. Consider using an interior fan in conjunction with your window air conditioner to spread the cooled air more effectively through your home without greatly increasing electricity use.

Set your air conditioner’s thermostat as high as comfortably possible in the summer. The less difference between the indoor and outdoor temperatures, the lower your overall cooling bill will be. And don’t set your thermostat at a colder setting than normal when you turn on your air conditioner. It will not cool your home any faster and could result in excessive cooling and, therefore, unnecessary expense.

Don’t place lamps or televisions near your air-conditioner’s thermostat. The thermostat senses heat from these appliances, which can cause the air conditioner to run longer than necessary.

Proper maintenance of your air conditioner will also save energy. Be sure to do the following:

At the start of each cooling season, inspect the seal between the air conditioner and the window frame to ensure it makes contact with the unit’s metal case. Moisture can damage this seal, allowing cool air to escape from your house.

Check your unit’s air filter once a month and clean or replace filters as necessary. Keeping the filter clean can lower your air conditioner’s energy consumption by 5% to 15%.

Occasionally pass a stiff wire through the unit’s drain channels. Clogged drain channels prevent a unit from reducing humidity, and the resulting excess moisture may discolor walls or carpet.

*In the winter, either cover your room air conditioner or remove and store it.
